Airfield Habitat management at Venice Airport

  • Venice airport
  • Airfield restoration, venice airport, CAP 772
About Project

EHM has been working at Venice airport assisting the management team in developing the first long grass policy at an Italian airport. Guidance has been given on a new maintenance programme.  Two trial areas have been over-seeded with new grass species; this will help the airport with the future reinstatement of the airfield grassland especially after the planned runway and taxiway improvements have been completed.

The restoration work has taken effect creating an effective airfield habitat environment at the airport (see before and after photos). EHM continue to provide support to the airport carrying out regular visits throughout the year provided recommendations on the management of the airfield. Following the successful work at Venice we are now working at the airport in Treviso on a similar project.

EHM also provide airfield habitat management to a number of airports in the UK and Europe; Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted, Luton, Southampton, Bournemouth, Norwich, Southend, Cambridge and Dublin (http://www.ehmltd.com/case-studies-habitat-management.php ).
